OBSCENE MESSAGES

D.C. – Politicians trapped in the sulfurous swamp that is
Washington City after Memorial Day now find themselves attacked in the
press and on the “internets” for allegedly sending obscene messages to
constituents and others.
 Delicate
young women have swooned upon receiving obscene, disgusting
communications from prominent
public figures
The
veritable tsunami of obscene
communications, although a long-term
phenomenon of American politics, has taken center stage as media
outlets try to distract the public from focusing on the
real failings of their elected representatives and senators to repair a
crushed economy and provide hope to the millions of desperate long-term
unemployed and their innocent families.
Although
the
disgusting and
inappropriate messages take a number of
forms, certain themes predominate. For example, defeated
Republican Senator Rick Santorum yesterday revolted his audience with
the off-color suggestion that global warming was not a scientific fact,
but a figment of the imagination of Socialist Democrats seeking to
enslave the nation. Onlookers reported that several children
in the room were exposed to this garbage, which threatens to subject
them to decades of torment that could have been avoided by sensible
carbon-limitation policies.
Although
some may say that such
messages are nothing more than a
harmless “blowing off of steam” by stifled Republican hacks, in fact
these crude comments could if taken seriously do serious damage to the
health and well-being of millions of Americans for decades to come.
As
might be expected, many of the inappropriate communications concern
sex. For example, former pizza tycoon Herman Cain told
hundreds of innocent listeners that homosexuality was a sin, a
particularly disgusting form of hate speech that in its extreme form
led to the lynching of Matthew Shepherd and continues to darken the
lives of gay men and women, especially teenagers and those living
around the simple-minded bumpkins who take Cain's revolting comments
literally. Other
stomach-churning messages attempt to foment hate directed at
immigrants, particularly those who came into this country without
appropriate visas. Sick attention-seeking weirdos like
Republican Sheriff Joe
Arpaio, not content with torturing and degrading innocent men and women
awaiting trial, have made countless tacky statements impugning the
behavior of immigrants and suggesting that they should be subjected to
vigilante sweeps, as if they were runaway slaves in the antebellum
South. A related form
of vile messages encourage in often graphic and grisly terms the
torture of defenseless prisoners of war, especially those whose
ethnicity or religion marks them in the diseased mind of the writer as
somehow sub-human. Observers note that some of these messages
were sent by Republican wardheelers whose judgment may have been warped
due to severe stress arising out of their public revelation of their
serial adulteries and/or combovers.
 Sometimes even little
children are
exposed to vile statements from out-of-control public
officials
Another
large
category of obscene speech can be found in millions of
crudely racist e-mails circulating among Republican officeholders and
their mouth-breathing followers that for example depict the President
of
the United Statements as a baby chimp or smiling in a watermelon
patch. When caught in the act, most of these malefactors
claim that they were engaging in nothing more than some harmless fun. While
some contend that all of these types of inappropriate messages
are nothing more then harmless venting protected by the First
Amendment, others note that they threaten the innocent with very real
harm:
continued destruction of the Earth's climate,
immigrants fearing for their lives, gay teenagers tormented and
harassed, senior citizens denied health care due to the replacement of
Medicare with an inadequate “voucher” scheme, and millions of readers
of obscene material now believing that a President in fact born and
raised in Hawaii is an alien African-born socialist. Still others
question the characterization of these communications as
obscene, noting that one man's stream of hateful, vile, and degrading
messages is another man's evening programming on Schlox News. In other
Washington news, a highly-strung narcissistic Congressman
admitted he sent naughty messages to adult women he had met on line.
